A "paid girl scam" is usually restaurant date extortion scam. Let me tell you an incident.
Last year, a Delhi based civil service aspirant met Varsha on dating app Tinder. After few days of conversation they decided to meet in person at Black Mirror Cafe in East Delhi's Vikas Marg area to celebrate her birthday.
After reaching at cafe they ordered snacks, two cakes, and four non-alcoholic shots.
The "date" was going quite well until Varsha had to rush out by stating there is a family emergency.
As the man finished the food and called for the check, the bill stunned him - he owed the cafe an obscene 1,21,917.70 rupees for food that should not cost more than a few thousand. The victim promptly disputed the bill but he was threatened, confined, beaten and forced to pay. The man ended up transferring the amount online to one of the cafe's owners - 32-year-old Akshay Pahwa.
On victim’s complaint Delhi police arrested Afsan (whose fake names were Varsha, Ayesha and Noor), Akshay and other staff members involved in and after the investigation it was revealed that 15 per cent of the bill goes to the woman, 45 per cent is divided between the managers and the remaining 40 per cent to the owners.
These girls work in coordination with pub owners and staff to scam people to earn maximum money.
And let me tell you most of the victims do not approach police because a probe may reveal to his family that he is meeting people via a dating app so these scams are very common and huge in number.
Be aware and safe.🙂
