The highly-anticipated cop drama 'Dabangg 3'
starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha
and Saiee Manjrekar in the lead role has finally hit theatres on Friday. The
film is receiving mixed responses from the cinephiles. The third instalment of
the franchise has garnered Rs 22-23 crore on the first day and has minted the
same amounted of business even on the second day. Even though it is a Salman Khan
starrer the film is not working at the box office as expected due to the
current situation in the country. The major circuits like Delhi and UP where
the film would have made good money has been restricted due to the law and
order issues.
According to the latest report of BoxofficeIndia.com, the
Salman Khan starrer collected Rs.22 crore nett on its second day. The
collections were little down from the previous day. The film did not garner
much business in many circuits mainly because of the protests.
The
Prabhudheva directorial has collected Rs.44.50 crore nett in two days which is
less for this film as it a Salman Khan starrer and on top the 'Dabangg'
franchise. But due to these external law and order issues, the film's revenue
is majorly affected. Now the point is how will the film recover Rs. 12-15 crore
nett loss which it will lose over the first weekend.
This will be surely a big task for the film as in the coming week there is
another big film releasing. Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer 'Good Newwz' is hitting
theatres next week.
For now, 'Dabangg 3' should target to mint good business on Sunday and then
sustain on Monday. Later, if the law and order situation gets better the cop
drama can get some good advantage of it.
Meanwhile, the report also added that the regional versions of the film are not
doing well.
